A model for including neurodiverse students in teaching

In this 25 minute presentation, Dr. Miranda Melcher will present a 3-part teaching model to improve inclusivity of neurodiverse students in teaching activities in higher education. Building on her research and teaching practice, and developed from her guide "Teaching to Include Everyone: A Practical Guide for Teaching Neurodiverse and Disabled Students," and other related research, Dr. Melcher will introduce participants to an immediately applicable way to think about teaching content and activities through the lens of neurodiverse inclusion. Her session will then discuss examples of applying these principles into teaching activities, including in online, face-to-face, and hybrid teaching spaces and aims to be quite interactive and responsive to audience questions and interests.
