Welcome

I am delighted to welcome you to the UEL Annual Learning and Teaching Symposium 2022!

The year’s extensive programme showcases the impact of both internal and external presenters’ scholarship in both local and global contexts, responding to this year’s theme of ‘Rethinking academic communities: building on what we have learned during the pandemic’.

Our sessions this year cover exciting topics from colleagues at the University and beyond including decolonising the curriculum, authentic assessment, reflexive practices, including neurodiverse students in our teaching, as well as collaborative teaching using EONXR.

During the day you will also have an opportunity to talk to some of our invited external speakers and, of course, with other members of the academic and professional services community at the University.

Best of luck to all the presenters.  Congratulations to all the winners of the UEL Teaching Fellowship Scheme and I very much hope you will enjoy the day.

Best wishes for the forthcoming academic year,

Dr Ian Pickup
